We used reclaimed timber from an old sawmill in Järvsö and transformed them into human scale sitting chapels, lanterns at night. It was an exploration in circular design by using only the limited amount of timber available. What could we make only with what we had?
We estimate the timber be around 200 years old.
The design was developed via analog model making and, given our limited supply of timber, refined by the use of computational design methods. No metal was used for the construction. The structure can go back into the soil as it came.
The pavilion was built in Stockholm, traveled to Uppsala and finally settled back in Järvsö at the nature reserve on Kyrkön.
